WINSTON FILM WINS ALASKA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL “BEST DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM”

The R.L. Winston Rod Co. is pleased to announce that its short film,“Alaska King Salmon on a Fly” has won BEST DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM at the 2010 ALASKA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL as well as receiving HONORABLE MENTION at the 2010 LOS ANGELES MOVIE AWARDS.

“Alaska King Alaska King Salmon on a Fly” was also an “official selection” at the Twin Rivers Media Festival in Asheville, NC and at the San Diego International Childrens Film Festival earlier this year. Today, “Alaska King Salmon on a Fly” will make its worldwide web debut for general audiences on the Winston web site at www.winstonrods.com.

Movie Synopsis:
“Alaska King Salmon on a Fly” – was written and narrated by a 12-year old boy on the trip of a lifetime in pursuit of an extraordinarily large salmon on the Goodnews River near the Bering Sea in western Alaska. Filmed in High Definition.

Flyfishing Movies.com Film Festival
The Fourth Film Festival is underway for the Festival period ending December 31, 2010. The Golden Trout Award for the best film overall will be a Limited Edition Boron II Conservation Rod and a James Prosek signed and numbered Limited Edition print valued at $1,800. In addition, on behalf of World Trout, the Winston Rod Company will make a donation of 20% of the value of the prize value to the winners’ choice of conservation project.

Special Conservation Prize
In addition, for this festival, to encourage filmmakers to create films addressing conservation issues, we are adding a new Special Conservation Prize of a Winston Boron II or graphite rod (of the winner’s choice) and collection of $100 in Winston accessories of the winner’s choice for the film that most effectively “promotes the ideals of conservation in flyfishing.” All films submitted with Conservation themes will be also be eligible for the Golden Trout Grand Prize.

Entering is easy: Simply logon to flyfishingmovies.com and follow the instructions. In most cases, movies can be uploaded immediately.
